Kolon Lee Kyu-ho "Stepping stone for sustainable future"... SK Choi Tae-won "Interested in climate change such as forest fires and flood damage"

[News Space=Reporter seungwon lee] Kolon Group (hereinafter Kolon) is actively supporting eco-friendly energy education for future generations.

Kolon announced on the 2nd that it participated in the 'Sharing Together Project' of the New Entrepreneurship Council (ERT) of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry and conducted the eco-friendly energy education program 'Energy School on Wheels, Eco Longlong (hereinafter referred to as Eco Longlong)' at Jinjam Elementary School in Daejeon.

This event was attended by key figures such as Lee Kyu-ho, Vice Chairman and CEO of Kolon Industries, Choi Tae-won, Chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Kim Shin-yeon, Head of the Hanwha Social Service Group (President of Hanwha Solutions), along with Minister of Environment Kim Wan-seop and Lee Taek-gu, Vice Mayor for Political Affairs, Economic Affairs and Science of Daejeon Metropolitan City.

The Sharing Together Project is an annual project of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry in which ERT member companies jointly practice social contribution activities. For the past two years, it has contributed to raising awareness of various social issues by carrying out events such as firefighter recovery support and at-risk youth self-reliance support.

The event was attended by Kolon, which has been actively supporting environmental education for future generations through its Eco Long Long education program, and Hanwha Group, which created the eco-friendly rest area, ‘Clean Shelter.’

On this day, Kolon conducted programs such as ▲ 'Energy Hide and Seek Mission' to find eco-friendly energy devices and items inside and outside the Eco Longlong vehicle and ▲ 'Creating Zero Energy Buildings' to design and build eco-friendly buildings so that participants could experience eco-friendly energy in their daily lives and increase their understanding of efficient energy use in buildings.

The Eco Longlong program, launched by Kolon in 2009, is an eco-friendly energy education program in which specially manufactured vehicles visit elementary and middle schools across the country to provide programs such as educational experiences.

In addition to the visiting program, Kolon also operates the 'Eco-friendly Energy Creation Center, Eco Longlong Cube', an educational infrastructure facility that provides eco-friendly energy experiential learning in Seoul, Gimcheon, etc., and through these facilities, the company has provided a high-level eco-friendly energy education program that won the 2019 Minister of Environment and Prime Minister's Award to approximately 150,000 students to date.

Kolon plans to conduct on-site education for small schools in the outskirts of the metropolitan area that have had limited access to eco-friendly energy education through its participation in the Sharing Together Project, and to run a program that invites students who have difficulty traveling to the Eco Longlong Cube in Seoul and Gimcheon. In addition, it plans to provide educational materials such as eco-friendly board games to schools in island and mountainous areas to raise social awareness about eco-friendly energy.

Lee Kyu-ho, Vice Chairman and CEO of Kolon Industries, said, “Eco Longlong is a program that we operate with the hope that children will grow into people who can create good energy that everyone can use based on their creativity and imagination,” and added, “Kolon will strive to make Eco Longlong education a solid stepping stone for children to create a sustainable future.”
