Daesang Co., Ltd. participates in 'SIAL Canada 2025'... "Captures the North American Market" with 'Jongga and Ofood'

 

[News Space=Reporter seungwon lee] Daesang Corporation announced on the 2nd that it participated in the 'SIAL Canada 2025' exhibition held in Toronto, Canada from April 29 to May 1 and successfully promoted its representative brands 'Jongga' and 'O'food' products, proving its global competitiveness in the North American market.

 

'SIAL Canada 2025', which is considered one of the top three exhibitions in North America, is one of the most important international food exhibitions that serves as a bridgehead for entering the North American market, and is held alternately in Montreal and Toronto, Canada every year. As it covers various industrial sectors such as retail, food service, and food processing, more than 1,000 companies and brands from 44 countries participate every year, and more than 21,000 visitors from 77 countries visit.

 

At this exhibition, Daesang Corporation operated booths for the kimchi brand ‘Jongga’ and the global food brand ‘Ofood’, and promoted the excellence of its four major global strategic products: kimchi, seaweed, sauce, and home meal replacement (HMR).

 

During the 'SIAL Canada 2025' period, the 'Jongga' and 'Ofood' booths were visited by local buyers, and notable results were achieved, such as discussing branch expansion and new product addition with buyers from large local distribution channels, Loblaws and Costco.

 

Currently, ‘Jongga’ kimchi and ‘Ofood’ soy sauce and sauce products are available in major Canadian mainstream distribution channels such as Costco, Walmart, Loblaws, Sobeys, and TNT, and are consistently loved by local consumers.

 

At the expo, there was a tasting event that provided a variety of taste experiences, and canapés using Jongga's representative products, 'Matkimchi', 'One-bite Bachelor Kimchi', 'LF (Lightly Fermented) Baek Kimchi', and 'Crunchy Kimchi', as well as 'Gochujang Ranch' and 'Ssamjang Mayo' that reinterpreted traditional Korean soy sauce, received an enthusiastic response from local buyers. In addition, various snacks, such as 'Jongga Kimchi Ramen' that boasts a refreshing taste with Jongga kimchi and 'Jang Ramen' that has the taste of authentic soy sauce, also received favorable reviews.

 

We also held a giveaway event for booth visitors. Visitors who followed the official Instagram accounts of ‘Jongga Global’ and ‘Ofood Global’ on-site were given ‘Ofood X Jongga Kimchi Ramen’ as a gift, and eco-bags were provided to participants in the QR code event, adding liveliness to the event.

 

Lee Kyung-ae, head of the Kimchi Global Business Division at Daesang Co., Ltd., said, “Participating in SIAL Canada 2025 was a great opportunity to promote the excellence of Jongga and Ofood products to the North American market and interact with local buyers.” She added, “Now that we have confirmed our global competitiveness in the North American market, we will continue to expand global export opportunities through differentiation strategies such as developing products that reflect local tastes and expanding distribution networks.”
