Korea Kolmar Develops Anti-Aging Cosmetics Technology That Rejuvenates Skin Cells… “AI Technology Utilization Reduces R&D Period by 70%”

[News Space=Reporter seungwon lee] Kolmar Korea has developed a 'Reverse Aging' cosmetic technology that makes skin cells younger. This technology is an innovative technology that helps to strengthen the skin barrier and relieve inflammation while inducing skin cells to rejuvenate themselves, making the skin look younger.

Korea Kolmar announced that it has developed an anti-aging peptide (small protein fragment) 'PTPD-12' using AI technology. The research team used AI to select 10 candidates from tens of thousands of peptides and found PTPD-12 that is effective for sensitive skin. The existing method of designing peptides and testing each one directly took more than a year, but AI technology drastically reduced the time to 3 months. This research was conducted jointly with Incospharm, a cosmetics and pharmaceutical raw material research and development company.

PTPD-12 is a peptide that activates 'autophagy'. Autophagy is a function in which cells remove internal waste and old proteins and recycle them to become younger. This plays an important role in slowing down skin aging. Korea Kolmar has changed the idea of promoting autophagy activity to make skin cells rejuvenate themselves without separate high-functional ingredients.

In particular, PTPD-12, unlike existing peptide cosmetics that simply activate autophagy, is designed to strengthen the skin barrier of sensitive skin, relieve inflammation, and restore the skin's natural strength. The efficacy of PTPD-12 has been proven through clinical trials, and the related research results were published in the SCI-level international academic journal 'Cosmetics' and were recognized worldwide.

According to the research paper, when 22 adult women with sensitive skin used a product containing 100ppm of PTPD-12 for 4 weeks, transepidermal water loss decreased by 9.7% and the erythema index improved by 4.2%. This means that the skin barrier was strengthened and the skin's inflammatory response was alleviated, improving skin health and moisture status.

A representative of Kolmar Korea said, “For sensitive skin, anti-aging ingredients such as vitamin C and retinol can be irritating enough to cause a stinging sensation, but products containing PTPD-12 are effective in anti-aging even without these ingredients,” adding, “We will develop and introduce anti-aging cosmetics that can satisfy all skin types, including sensitive skin.”
