[뉴스스페이스=이승원 기자] 인천국제공항공사(사장 이학재)는 8월 1일 에어인천과 아시아나 화물사업부가 통합하여 신설된 화물항공사 ‘에어제타’가 인천공항에서 첫 항공편 운항을 시작했다고 3일 밝혔다. 인천공항 화물기 주기장에서 진행된 ‘에어제타 첫 항공편 운항행사’에는 인천국제공항공사 김창규 운영본부장을 비롯해 에어제타 김관식 대표 등 약 30여명이 참석해 에어제타의 출범을 기념했다. 이번 통합 화물항공사는 지난해 대한항공과 아시아나항공의 합병 과정에서 유럽연합 집행위원회(EC) 등이 제안한 ‘아시아나항공 화물사업부 분리매각’ 조건에 따라 출범하게 됐다. 에어제타는 기존 에어인천이 소형화물기로 운항 중이던 중국, 베트남 등 단거리 노선과 더불어 아시아나항공이 보유한 유럽, 미주 등 중장거리 노선까지 흡수하며 화물 네트워크 부문에서 높은 경쟁력을 확보한다. 이와 더불어 2026년부터 대형기 도입과 노선 재편을 통해 안정적인 운송 체계를 구축해, 인천공항 전체 항공화물 처리량의 약 17%에 해당하는 50만톤 이상의 물동량을 처리하는 등 대한항공(49%)에 이어 국내 2위 수준의 화물항공사로 거듭날 것으로 전망된다. 공사는 에어제타가 시장에 안정적으로 정착하고 국
