[News Space=Reporter seungwon lee] As confusion spreads due to the SK Telecom hacking incident, it has been confirmed that over 20,000 pieces of personal information were leaked from Albamon, a part-time job recruitment platform operated by Job Korea (CEO Hyun-jun Yoon).
Albamon announced on its homepage on the 2nd that "on April 30, we detected and responded to signs of abnormal access to the Albamon system, and in the process, a total of 22,473 temporarily saved resumes were leaked."
Albamon said that as soon as they became aware of the hacking attempt, they blocked the account and IP that attempted the access, and took emergency measures against the security vulnerability. They explained that hacking attempts of the same type have now been blocked at the source so that they will not occur again.
However, he explained, "During the process of handling the hacking attempt, we confirmed that some members' temporarily saved resume information, such as names, mobile phone numbers, and email addresses, were leaked."
Albamon apologized, saying, "The leaked items may vary from person to person," and "IDs and passwords were not leaked, but the most important thing is to protect our members' valuable information, and we are deeply aware of that responsibility."
Albamon added that it immediately reported to the Personal Information Protection Commission on May 1st and then individually notified members whose resume information was leaked via email.
Albamon added, "We are doing our best to prevent additional damage by strengthening real-time monitoring. No secondary damage has been reported so far," and "We plan to further strengthen detection and blocking of hacking attempts and abnormal access."
However, as Albamon is a site operated by Job Korea, interest in the leak of personal information of 22 million people on the job search site Job Korea is also growing.
A JobKorea PR team official responded, “So far, JobKorea has confirmed that there are no issues,” and “We are reporting the current situation to KISA and related organizations and are conducting an investigation together, including the inflow route, and we will re-announce the results once they are out.” They added, “We are in the process of preparing a compensation plan for the affected customers, and we will soon inform you of the payment schedule and application method via email and text message.”
Job Korea, a limited liability company, is the number one job platform company in the HR tech sector in Korea.
